Photography

Photography is both an art and a discipline, and our program treats it as both. Participants begin with the fundamentals: how a camera works, how to compose a frame, and how to read and shape light. With practice, those skills become choices. They learn to slow down, notice what others overlook, and decide what belongs in the frame and why.

From there, participants experiment, document the world around them, and tell stories that are personal and important to them. Sharing that work takes some courage, and it builds confidence along with craft. In time, we hope they come to see a photograph as more than a record of what was there. It is a way of seeing, and of being heard.
